Embrace and Employ Brand Ambassadors

SouthwestI love flying Southwest!  Some may find the airline too “thrifty” but I don’t.  In fact when forced to fly other airlines, where they “assign” my seat I’m actually a little miffed.  I prefer to make my seat choice at the same time everyone else does…”on the fly.” 😉

Another reason I prefer to fly Southwest is…I can tell the employees LOVE their employer.  Southwest has always reflected the ultimate example of consumer and employer brand marriage.  Both build mutual affection and genuine community.

Below I’ve shared the ultimate “Day In The Life” work culture video.   Mr. David Holmes is  a Southwest employee who shares his enthusiasm for his job and his employer during pre-flight passenger instructions.  The video was originally posted on YouTube in March of this year.

Now David may not be “every” employee at Southwest…positive attitude is a choice.  But, with David’s choice to take the mundane and enrich the pre-flight experiences of others,  he’s become the Rhythmic Ambassador of Southwest Culture. This is the title he’s given by his employer in the subsequant video “GAAP Rap!”  

One more thing…what a tremendous way for a company to “employ” Social Media as an Employer Brand Ambassador.
